Student & Parent Testimonials
Every international journey is unique. These testimonials share real experiences from students and parents about life at private boarding schools abroad.
Their stories offer a real glimpse into academics, sports, friendships, personal growth, and the memories that make an exchange year unforgettable.

My son Casper is currently living his dream and a big part of that is thanks to UP Global!
Ever since he was young, Casper has said he wanted to go to the United States to play college golf. As someone who was an exchange student in the U.S. myself back in the 1980s, I suggested that he could first go for a year of high school after 9th grade to experience what it’s like and better understand what studying there in the future might involve.
When we started exploring exchange options, we quickly realized that combining golf with a traditional host family program would not be easy. You don’t know the host family or location in advance, and there’s no guarantee that the local school offers your sport or even that there’s a golf course nearby, let alone opportunities to compete.
She has grown tremendously as a person, and we truly believe this experience will benefit her for the rest of her life.
Time has gone by incredibly fast, and our daughter will return home in June with so many new experiences and memories. She has grown tremendously as a person, and we truly believe this experience will benefit her for the rest of her life. She has made many friends, adapted really well, and the school’s excellent adult support network has always been there when needed. Truly wonderful people all around! It was also amazing for us to visit the campus during Christmas. We were genuinely surprised by how incredible the facilities were for sports, theatre, and other activities, it felt just like in the movies.
The private school campus program was definitely the right choice for Annika. From the very beginning of the application process, she knew she wanted to attend a private school and live in a dormitory rather than with a host family. The school provided a strong support network, and students were able to spend time together on campus after school. The exchange students also did many fun activities together, and on some weekends the school organized small trips with staff members, which we feel helped create and maintain a strong sense of community.
